Decorative surfaces is the category the substitution clause was invented for. Wilsonart makes more than a thousand designs across laminate, quartz, solid surface and compact — and a specifier can still be handed a sheet saying any of it may be swapped for something comparable. Comparable is a price decision wearing a technical word.
You cannot argue with the clause. You can make the swap feel like a downgrade.
