Exterior continuous insulation decides how a house feels for as long as it stands, and nobody who lives in it will ever see it. Atlas EnergyShield XR is polyiso that goes on outboard of the framing to break the thermal bridge the studs create — a real difference from the board it sits beside on the spec, and an invisible one to the person paying for the house.
A material nobody can see is a material nobody can prefer. After that, it gets priced by the board.
Put a person where the product cannot be
Atlas went in with Jordan Smith and the Affordable High Performance Home and filmed the one thing a spec sheet cannot hold: a homeowner, Patti, and what a comfortable house with a small energy bill actually means to her. Comfort and savings stop being a performance table and start being somebody's forever home.
